  I.GUIDANCE TO DIABETIC PATIENTS WHILE PURCHASING A NEW PAIR OFSHOES Purchase the shoes only on doctor’s advice. Always wear cotton socks along with the shoes. Those who are buying the shoes for first time should not start walking with the shoes immediately. First two days after wearing the shoes sit down for 10 to 20 minutes. Next two days wear shoes and stand for some time intermittently. Next two days walk for ten minutes wearing the shoes. Next day walk intermittently for 20 to 30 minutes By this way, slowly and steadily, within next two weeks only, you should start using the shoes permanently. If it is noticed that there is little   formation of red colour   or slight swelling on the foot, give some rest to the foot, If it is not coming down consult the doctor. Dear Reader , This is my first blog so I will assume that it will not be perfect and have many drawbacks but as  someone who believes that " it is better  to  have tried and failed than not to have tried at all" ( I  have replaced the word love ,but then I think its completely irrelevent in  the present setting😏). So much has   been written  and discussed on the topic that I initially felt I cannot do anything    different from what has already been written and said .  But then I realised that most of the   information that doctors have, remains restricted to the medical community and rarely   does it percolate to the masses in the unadulterated form ,simple and devoid of any   complicated medical jargon .I have attempted to connect with you in a format that   may appear to be casual and personal as a letter from a doctor to his patient..i.e blog in the new era.
